Who are you

Hi!

I'm Benny, and if I had to describe myself in a few words, I'd say this: I'm a huge Gilmore Girls fan, a serial chocolate consumer (especially with whole hazelnuts), and I was born with an immense desire to travel.
Obviously (and it's highly likely you are too), I'm a stationery lover!

This passion led me to found Paper Plane in 2019.

It was a tough time: I found my job as a textile designer repetitive (oh, floral fabric again today? Wow, how original...), I had to get over a big disappointment that made me reconsider relationships and the people around me... in short, I needed a change!

They say to think about the future, you have to look at the past. My passion has always been stationery, and as I grew up, I developed another equally strong one: travel.

Normally, when women want a radical change, they cut their hair, but I already cut mine often (and by myself), so it wouldn't have been a big novelty... so I simply gathered all the courage I had and took the leap!

I remember that day very well, I was walking through the streets of Berlin and the idea for the name came to me: Paper (for the love of stationery) Plane (for the love of travel).

I started by offering Goodies Boxes: monthly themed boxes, filled with stationery. For almost 6 years, it was like wrapping a gift every month!

It was a very motivating job, but exhausting: every month I had to think about the theme, the content, design everything, and then ship it.

Honestly, I was exhausted.

So in June 2025, I sent out the last Goodies Box and participated in my first industry fair.

I wanted Paper Plane to become a true stationery brand with seasonal collections and products sold in stores. I focused on the goal, created a catalog, and stationery shops started selling my products. I couldn't believe it!

Meanwhile, my community grew, thanks in part to my creative workshops: Merende di Carta (Paper Snacks).

Snail mail has always been Paper Plane's main inspiration because it's the way I express my creativity and feelings too. It might seem strange, but in this digital world, many people have started writing thanks to my products, my advice, and my passion, and for me, that's the greatest achievement!
